Hey there Rich,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a Gibson Ripper had
2 humbucking pickups,a 4 way varitone switch a I think you could thread
the strings through the body.Right?I should know,I owned a Gibson G-3,which
was a Ripper body with 3 single coil pickups.IMHO Rippers were actually a
very good bass,it's just as you said though, they, like many other unusual
basses never caught on.That's people for you.As for the price you want
($600.00)I don't think the market will support that.Don't get me wrong,it's
a good bass, but I haven't seen one in years, and I live in New York City,
which has got to be the used guitar capitol of the world. My advise(humbly
offered):Try www.elderly.com They specialize in old rare/odd stuff and ask
them what they think. Also,go to www.gibson.com and go to the forum and ask
them what they think. They're pretty good and they get back to you"jack rabbit"
fast.Thirdly keep it at least for now.You could have a change of heart and
maybe just maybe start playing again. It's like when you get really ticked
off at the girlfriend and you want to banish her to the tower forever;then
you remember what she looks like when she walks around the house in her
underwear and...well,you know what I mean.
Jazz it up,Mickster
