: I have a ´67 Gibson EB2, with the original humbucker. This bass is wonderful to play, absolutely fantastic! But the sound of that humbucker...well..it's very deep, and it's really hard to get a comfortable sound. Does any of you have any suggestions what to do? Maybe change the pick-up? As I said I really love to play this bass, so any help is welcome!
El brings up a good point, but the new pick-up can be installed with out doing any damage to the bass. keep th old pick-up in a safe place and IF you ever sell it for its worth, then you can put the pick-up back in and some new solder in the back won't hurt the value. If you love the bass, then making it sound great is no crime......After all, you can't change you girlfriend, so why not change you bass...it's more loyal anyway......late
