I have always used the Alesis SR-16. It is a good drum machine. I find it extremely easy to use, but then i spent some time reading the manual and lots of experimenting. My friend owns the same machine and cant do very much on it...he did'nt read the manual though.(kind of a waste of money really) anyway, I think its the best sounding drum machine out there, hundreds of different drums available. Plenty of great pre-programmed patterns and drum kits too. go give it a listen........john
