: When I play, I often get quite a lot of finger noise when moving to a different fret. This happens when I take my finger off, and then back on to the string producing the scraping noise from sliding fingers.
: I have found I can remove a lot of this sound with EQ. Is it OK to do this or should I try and learn not to do it?
: (I hope this is clear as I couldn't think of a better way to put it.)

Hey there,
The Mickster said it just right: no matter how clean your technique is, you'll always suffer from finger noise, especially with roundwounds. If you found a way to get rid of it to some degree, good for you!
As for me, a little finger noise is something I like to have, especially on recordings. Maybe this sounds dumb, but I think those little noises make for a more "alive" bass sound.
Just my $0.02 worth. Buena suerte and keep those basses up front in the mix,
El Pájaro
