Question about Fretless Basses (And Amps)

Hey everyone. First off just let me say nice boards. I think I've found everything I'll ever need to know about bass. :)

Now to my actual question: I've been playing bass for almost three years now, and recently (August of 2000) made the transition to 6-string (An Ibanez SR406, if you're curious). Now I'm looking at a fretless, to kind of expand my sound repetoire (Sic). (NOTE: Upright bass is not an option, given my budget and space). Does anyone know of a fretless bass out there costing know more than $800, preferably with 6-strings (Here's where you point and laugh)?
I've been looking at some fairly cheap ($300-400) fretlesses in a Musician's Friend catalog, but they only have four strings. Assuming I'm willing to give up the extra two strings, would one of these be good (One's an Epiphone EB-1 Fretless, the other a Yamaha RBX260F), or should I pay a few hundred extra dollars for a 6-string fretless (Or even save up my money for the next several years and get one custom built for me)? Anyone know if Ibanez'll make a Fretless version of the SR406 just for me? :)

Secondly, anyone know any good amps--preferably in a combo setup--for about $800? I'm looking for quite a bit of power, but nothing so big that I won't be able to move it if necessary (60-80 Lbs sounds good).

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
-EE
