Thanks for the responses.
Yeah, I have short, kinda chubby fingers, so the Ibanez Soundgears are perfect for me, given I can play a 6-string without too much problem (After the initial adjustment period of *Hits lowest string, gets tone a fourth lower than he wants* "Oh wait, E's not my lowest string anymore!", of course. :) )
But back to the original topic at hand.
My problem is that I presently don't have Shockwave Flash on my computer, because it (My comp) is a piece of crap--that's another story entirely though. Perhaps THAT'S what I should be putting my money into, but anyway. What this means is I can't get to their site. I did some poking around on smaller sites, and it appears the bass I want is the SR-506 Fretless. If someone with a halfway decent computer could check up on that for me it'd be appreciated.
Masterbasser, I actually came VERY close to buying the bass you mentioned--Musician's Friend had an offer where you got a free Dream Theater CD signed by John Myung if you bought one of the basses on that page. Unfortunately, by the time I got the catalog the offer was EXPIRED....grr! But I'll think about it...
Obviously, a custom made bass would be the best option, but given that I'm a 17-year old cashier at Stop & Shop making $6.60 an hour--a year away from college no less!--that's not really in my budget at this point. And I've seen what financial damage credit can do, so I guess I'll hold off on that for a bit.
As for the amps, I'll check those out when I get a chance. Thanks again!
