: : Sorry for such a simple question on a board that is clearly populated with actual musicians....but I was wondering if you all had recommendations on a good instrument/gear for me to start with. Not crazy expensive, but also not something that I'll regret buying as soon as I know anything at all about the instrument.... I couldn't be any more of a beginner, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

: Hey,
: I just got my first bass as of 11/20/00. I got a Yamaha RBX-260 and love it. My brother has a Fender Standard Mexican and thought that is a good bass too, we both agree that the Yamaha is better. Hope this helps.

Hey, I played a Ricky for few years back in the 70's, sold it for about $500 im the 80's so I could concentrate on having a family. Anyway, I just got a Yamaha enrty level Bass and although the action is a little high for my liking and the bottom of the body digs in my thigh, while sitting and playing it, I'm loving this Bass and getting back into it. I ordered it off the internet and after trying it out many times at the music shop, I know it is a great Bass for the money. I love the way it sounds without an amp. I can sit here and find riffs on the net and play them. Great Bass for the money that Yamaha. Came with a tuner and delevery was free for over $200 orders, not going to tell where, cause it's a cheap bass anyway and I'm not sure of the Protocol here!
