yah totally. I just bought a nice new spurling fretless 5 string. and i've played bass for about 5 years, and been fretted ever since, until recently. let me tell you, man, if you want tones, fretless is the way to go. whatever style you play, damn, these basses kick fuckin' ass. Now, on what type of bass to get. In my experiences, pedulla's are the pretty much cream of the crop, either that or lakland. But i happened to pick up a bass better than both of those (so nyahh). And warwicks are nice, but not ALL that great in fretless styles. They have a nice tone, but i think that you should go with the pedulla. If you've been playing a while, you should probably get that bass, just for all of it's amazing qualities, and amazing harmonics. Damn, that bass has all. Yah, so there ya go, go with the pedulla, you'll thank me that you did. Peace
oh, and if you find a spurling, it's much cheaper than a pedulla, but completely custom built and hand made, GO WITH IT!
