: Hello again, 'tis me, Will, with yet another question... Just wanted to know who got you started playing bass, or why you choose to play bass over anything else, these questions just come to me and any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
: Thanks again, and dont forget to visit my bands site at the bottom (please sign the guestbook!)
I'd been playing guitar most of my life - my dad plays for a living. Well, I'd always been more of a bass fan (Paul McCartney, Lee Sklar, Sting, and Geddy Lee) than a guitar fan, but never considered playing bass. Then, I was in the army in 1991, getting ready to fly to Saudi during Desert Storm (I was in a Patriot Missile unit). Me and some guys sat around in the barracks the night before the flight, getting drunk and relaxing - and someone asked what each one of us would like to do if/when we got back, since none of us knew what it was going to be like overseas in a combat zone. We all took turns, and when it was mine, I said..."I wanna play bass." Just like that, it came out, from nowhere. So a week after I got back home, I went to a pawn shop and bought a Ventura shortscale with a wobbly neck. That was about ten years and three basses ago, but I'm still playing... - Pete
