: My R&R band, "TopShelf" (not my idea, that name - I wanted to call us
: FFOG - for "Five Fat Old Guys")played a corporate pary at a ritzy
: hotel in Metro Atlanta. I blew the dust off of my Alembic Epic 5
: string fretless, figuring I'd take it for a spin on one or two of our
: ballads. Picked it up for the first tune we were doing for a warm up,
: as the partiers hadn't arrived in full force yet. When the tune was
: done, the lead singer launched into the next tune, and I ended up
: playing the fretless the entire first set! ZZTop, Doobie Brothers,
: Gloria Estefan, Ike and Tina Turner... all these different artists'
: tunes... done on my fretless. It actually turned out OK - it was
: really funny. The drummer knew what was happening and was laughing
: his hiney off. He saw me as I kept throwing desperate glances at the
: Fender on the stand only 3 feet away, knowing I didn't have enough
: time to make the swap. A couple of times he counted off the tunes and
: deliberately did not let me get to the Fender. Ha!!!!!!!!!
: A great time was had by all.

Yeah; a friend of mine picked his fretless one day and he left his warwick thumb bass!!. It was very funny see him slaping Vaughan's "Scuttle Buttin" in a fretless one. I'm considering buyiung one. Who knows?
