: Ok, my friends is getting a guitar and I really want to get a bass and learn to play. I've been looking for a inexspensive begginer bass, and have found a Rogue LX200b, a Squire affinity p-bass, and an Ibanez gsr200. Ranging from 130-160-200 in respective order. My question is what do you people think would be the best one, I'm leaning torwards the Ibanez. Any info would be appreciated. By the way I found those bass's at musiciansfriend.com thanks
All of those basses would be suitable for a beginner; they're decently made, but to a price point instead of the highest possible quality, so they're inexpensive, but not something you'd want to play your entire career.
Of the three, I'd definitely go for the Ibanez; imho, it'll take you farther before you hit its limitations than either of the other two would.
The Squiers are nice for the price; the Rogues are built by Squier, btw, and Musician's Friend *might* still have the special on their low-end model for $99.95, which would be good if you were *really* low on money.
Hope that helps! Good luck!
