I have a vintage gibson bass (EB-3) that I'm trying to date as accuratly as
possible. I think I have narrowed it down to 1969 or 1970 but could use some more info . The "made in usa" is stamped on the rear of the headstock. And I have been told that was started in 1970. However the bass does not have the gibson crown on the front of the headstock only the name gibson . This would imply that the bass was made in 1969 or earliar. Its the original neck . The serial number 600xxx is stamped on the back of the head stock. It has the large open tuning gears . Any info on this will be greatly appreciated.
