Hey air cut,you are bringing back memories.A fellow bass player in my neighborhood(Queens,N.Y.)used to have one of those. If memory serves me
correctly, the head was only a pre-amp and the power amp was actually
in the cabinet.Right? As for the sound, if you liked it with a Jazz
with flatwounds, a Rickenbacker with rounds will make you cry. This was
just about the most sought after bass amp of the 70s, though it does
lack some top end.As I said, I didn't own one myself, but, I played through
my friend's amp enough to fondly remember how great it sounded, and how
his mom used to yell at him because he was "Shaking the whole house."
That idea you had about running the highs through the 150b and the 10s
sounds good. It's not that this amp/bottom doesn't have any top end, just
that when you're using a reflected 18 the upper notes lack some articulation.
Prepare for THUNDER!The price sounds really good to me, but then, I haven't
heard of anyone selling one of those in a while.I'd say jump on it.Good luck.
That's a great amp.
