: Check out Yamaha.

: : Okay...I want to learn fretless really badly...I love the sound, and it looks like fun. But, I'm on a fairly limited budet. There are a few basses around in the "beginner" catagory, and those I can afford easily, but are they worth owning? Should I wait for something a little nicer to pop up on ebay? I want something that at least plays mediocre...but I don't want to spend alot, because I may end up hating it...or at least not being proficient enough to have fun. I want dots, if not fret lines, and I could line up a carvin for something like $500...but is it worth it? Thanx for the opinions...

hey, yo......
i just bought the dean rhapsody semi-hollow body fretless and i have to tell you it ir a great toy, man.....
i only spent about 400 on it and it looks good, and is fairly playable.....
i could not have picked a better "1'st" fretless to learn on.....i play it as often as my 4 and 6-string basses....
cya,
