I bought a Carvin 6 the first year they came out - 91 or 92 I think it was. It had
the Sperzel tuners (nice), the Wilkenson bridge (ouch!) and no mid-range boost. The
tone, while good, was a bit sterile sounding. Not really growly, not very deep either - sort
of non-descript. It certainly didn't sound BAD, but didn't have much character like
a Ken Smith 6 has or a Yahama TRB-6 . . . the top end was beautiful! But like I say,
the tone was mediocre.
: Tell me about your Carvin 6-string. Does it sound and play like an upper-end model or an ecomomy instrument? What about the slap sound?
