: Has any one used ELIXER bass strings, what did you think?

Hi Chris...Down the page we had a little discussion about strings
a while back, there was some mention made of Elixer strings, with
some votes for, and some against..This is one brand I've actually
never tried; somebody mentioned that they do carry a big price tag,
though. After playing for almost 25 years, I've settled on the
D'addario Prisms. They're the brightest, longest lasting strings
I've ever used. They're stainless, and will eat softer fretwire,
and fretless fingerboards. They're not easy on fingers, either,
they will cause blisters and calluses, ( if you don't have calluses
built up). They're just tough stainless strings, almost pure iron
in content...BTW, I played Rotosounds for many, many years
on My Rick 4001, it took almost 20 years to eat the frets down
to the nub...Oh well, everything's a trade off!!!

Cheers,
Pat
