The Ibanez Ergodyne is pretty nice, but maybe you should see if you can find something even more high-end, but used in a pawn shop? I've seen Rickenbachers, American Fenders, Zons, etc., in these places for under 800 bucks on a regular basis. You could probably find a pretty nice amp with a hundred or more watts for under a hundred bucks too, if you shop around enough. If you buy used though, remember this: offer about 60% on the sticker price and go up a little from there if you must. Anyway; that's exactly what I'd do with your financial situation. Good luck -
: what do you guys think of the bass? I'm playing a cheap Fender mexican jazz bass right now, and the bass I'm looking for a new bass.
: I'm also playing through a Peavey Basic 40 amp, I don't know what kind of amp it is, is it a keyboard amp? I need a new amp, so any suggestions on equipment from the paycheck of a 16 year old will be much appreciated
