Hi there,
Much has been said and written against videos as valid music teaching methods. Anyway, if it´s a particular technique what you're trying to learn, I think videos work fine. Even better thatn books, BTW, because you get to actually see the player/teacher employing the technique you're interested in.
That said, I got some intereseting ideas from Stu Hamm's "Slap, Pop, & Tap for the Bass" Tape. I'm not sure wether you can find it around these days (it's a fairly old tape), but it's definitely worth checking out. Also, my teacher tells me Alexis Sklarevski's tape is another good investment, too, although I still didn't have the chance to check it out.
