: What is the meaning of walking bass lines? And what's the difference between jazz and blues bass?
As Ed told you, a walking bass line means playing one note per beat, usually four to the bar.
The difference between jazz and blues is mostly the type of chords used. Most popular blues songs use only dominant seven chords (eg E7,A7, B7), while Jazz uses other chords.
Jazz songs tend to be more harmonically complex, having many more chords and types of chords than straight blues songs.
Hope you find this informative.
