I hate to preach, but the best advice I can offer is to forget tablature! Take the time to learn the basics of reading music. You'll be grateful for as long as you play bass. Tablature can be a great tool to help with very difficult fingerings, but as a method of learning music, it's horrible! Trust your ears, and learn to trust your eyes by reading music. There are many, many books (cheap!) that will get you started, and again...I promise you that you won't regret it.
Good luck and keep playing those low notes...
