: I'm glad you posted about the Moon...I ahve never heard of the moon w/exception of seeing some comments here and there. Just out of curiosity, do they mount in the the J-retro? and what kind fo price range do they have... I gave $250.00 plus shipping for my J-retro, and because of the quality and versitality of the unit. I would say I got my monies worth. Glad to see you post about the moon EL.

Hi there Tim!
What's up, my friend? You may have noticed I'm quite happy with the Moon preamp. It's really cool. The J-retro got some rave reviews too, these coming from some dedicated J-bass users in the online digest The Bottom Line. As far as I know everybody seems to like it, so I think you made an excellent pruchase, too. My Moon costed $180 plus shipping, which is a little cheaper than the J-retro but it is also a little simpler: you don't get a mid control with the Moon, you don't get a pickup blend, and you don't get an active/passive switch in case the battery dies (my only major complaint), so I guess the difference in price is more than justified.
Regarding your other question ("Just out of curiosity, do they mount in the the J-retro?"), you'll have to indulge me, but being English my second language (I'm from Argentina) I just couldn't understand what you're asking. Do you mean if Luthiers Acces Group will mount a J-retro on your bass? Or if they cary J-retros for sale? Sorry! Clarify this and I'll get back.
Buena suerte compadre and keep your bass up front in the mix,
