Alot of you guys or gals are not sure of what bass to purchase, and there's no trick to it. You find an honest music store(good luck) and play Yamaha, Fender (the mexican fenders are inexpensive!) Ibanez, Dean, Peavey makes some real nice inexpensive basses that play well and what ever else they have. Play them and the one with the best feel to you, that sounds good to you, with a $$ tag that looks good to you(30%-40% off retail is respectable, and ask for it!!) BUY IT!! Make sure the neck is straight with the right amount of relief, ask the honest sales guy to look at it. Put good strings on the new bass, the ones you'll get on the bass are probably ok , but one of the biggest improvements to a bass is the set up(neck, and string height) and strings. Ghs,DR,rotosound etc all make great strings you can buy for around $20 a set. Worth it! Have fun,
