: I was using Thomastick Spirocores for about a thousand years on this German bass of questionable repute that I have. Then I tried the Pirastro "Jazzer" strings. They seem just fantastic! But then again, I've never even tried Heliocores, Correllis, Velvets, or Jargars.

: Does anyone have any thoughts on how Pirastro Jazzer strings compare to other brands they've used??

The Jazzers are similar to the Spirocore Weichs, and Helicore Pizzicatos.
They're basically pizz strings with long sustain, deep growl, bright tone.
Corellis are designed for both pizz and arco playing.
I never tried the Velvets.
The Jargars are steel strings, but very gut-like.
They could be considered an arco string, but many players pizz them too.
Their tone is mild, warm and short-sustained.
