: Im looking for a pickup for my double-bass. Have anyone tried the piezo-electric one made by Balsereit?

Here's the info I found about it:

Model: Piezo
Preamp: optional
Description: W. Balsereit, a luthier from Cologne, produces a pick-up which resembles a bit to the Wilson-pickup in regard to its function. This model however contains some interesting improvements. This pickup consists of a conical brass pin which is 4 cm long and as thick as a pencil. This pin is simply put into a hole drilled into the top end of the foot of the bridge. If you turn this brass pin in the bridge, you can adapt the sound to your instrument. The XLR-output is fixed to the tail piece by means of a peg.
Even without a preamp the pickup produces a round well-balanced sound. It is one of the best pickups I have played with so far - and this to a comparatively good price.
