: My bass teacher recomended these LaBella nylon wound strings. I have heard that they do not bow well. I play 75/25% pizz/arco so I would like them to at least be somewhat bowable. Has anyone tried them and if so what do you think?
I heard that they're bowable, but you may need a stickier rosin though.
I've tried them on a few basses but didn't like them much.
I found them too clear-sounding.
Several pros are using them though; Ron Carter, Buster Williams, Mads Vinding.
I guess you'll have to find out for yourself.
