The fishman is a POS.

: : Right now I have the Fishman BP-100 and I hate it. I'm looking for a great pick-up that is under $500. I need something with a little more gain than the Fishman that doesn't get so much feedback. Any others sugestions - please reply.

: Have you fitted the pickup properly? Your bridge surface is probably a curved profile. You need to file flat spots for the transducers to sit in between the strings (if that's a bit scary for you, your luthier should be able to do it for you) That increases the gain straight away, and cuts down the feedback at the same time, because the transducer surface is picking up more vibration from the bridge and less from the air. If that doesn't do the trick, try blocking the f-holes with strips of upholstery foam. I use the BP-100 myself with a Fishman preamp, and I never suffer from feedback until I reach bleeding - ears volumes. Stick with the Fishman - you might find your money would be better invested in setting it up properly and getting a preamp.

: Best of luck!
