: Anyone out there have experience with the Realist pickup at loud volumes? I've got the impression that its an excellent pickup for "true" acoustic sound ideal for jazz combo playing. But I'm interested in how it performs, feedback and quality-wise, when played through an Ampeg SVT competing with a set of Ludwigs and a screaming Twin Reverb.

: Thanks
Hi Bill...My Realist is very dark sounding by itself, so I use an Underwood too, with a Y cord, and go straight to the board or thru my Contra amp for loud stuff. It has lots of presence and plenty of whomp. I did a 15-piece band last year outdoors, to about 3000 people. Jazz first, then followed by dance stuff. I had my electric basses onstage for the second set, but I never used them. Granted, I was playing through a huge PA with massive subs. I would love to hear how this would work through an SVT. Might be interesting if you could tame the feedback. MJ
