Pirastro Obligatos are good. They're easier to bow and have a good pizz sound. They don't have the sustain of spirocores but they sound good. I have heard good things about Corelli 370's also. Can anyone comment on the differences in the pizz sound between Obligatos & Corellis?

: Hi everybody! I've been playing jazz bass pretty seriously now for about
: 5 years and am recently becoming serious about classical bass too. I recently
: put a set of Thomastik Spirocore Weichs on my bass but am not happy with
: their bowed response. I want strings that sound warm and rich when bowed and
: still have good sustain for pizz. Are there any good hybrid strings out there that fit this description or should I buy a set for each style?
