: Hi everybody! I've been playing jazz bass pretty seriously now for about
: 5 years and am recently becoming serious about classical bass too. I recently
: put a set of Thomastik Spirocore Weichs on my bass but am not happy with
: their bowed response. I want strings that sound warm and rich when bowed and
: still have good sustain for pizz. Are there any good hybrid strings out there that fit this description or should I buy a set for each style?

I've been using Thomastic Spirocore MEDIUM guage strings for more than 20 years (mostly jazz, swing) and found them great for pizz. and bowing. I just switched to Thomastic Spirocore light guage strings as a result of advice from a string distributer and I am in the process of going back to the medium guage. I don't get the volumn (pizz) or the warmth (bowing) I got with the medium guage. Personally, I think a lot has to do with your playing style. I have a strong attack, even with an amp. (GK) Not loud. Just strong and hopefully, solid.
