: : Does anyone have any input about the difference in sound quality for the three different sizes of hartke kickback combo amps. I'm thinking about buying either the 10 or the 15 but I've heard that 15 inch speakers generally sound like crap for upright bass. Is this true? Are there any other decent combo amps within a similar price range ( 300-600) that sound good for double bass.

: : Thanks for any suggestions

: SWR has three workingman's combos (10,12,15). I have heard great things about the 10 and 12, but not about the 15. I know a lot of professional acoustic bassists who use the 12. I think it costs about $500.

: I use the GK MB150, which is a little more expensive, maybe $600-700, but I like it because I think it's the best sounding amp for my acoustic. Like I said, a lot of people seem to love the SWR workingman's 12. Hope this helps.

I have a small Carvin bass amp for sale: It has been upgraded with a Bag End 10 in. Speaker and puts out 100 watts w/a rear vent. It is in great shape. $250.00 contact: pmadbass@home.com
