: Hello,
: I am wanting to learn upright bass(bluegrass) and was considering a Cremona SB-1.
: Is the tonal quality of these decent?
: What about playability?

Check out David Gage's shop in NYC, he has a great reputation and has many instruments to choose from. web site www.davidgage.com. Also, bassviolins.com on the west coast. I am also looking for an entry level bass and have learned a great deal by visiting both webs sites and talking with these guys on the telephone. I understand that set up is more important than the maker of the instrument (although even a poor instrument can't be set up properly). Talk to these guys for a good education.
