I am new to the board.Have enjoyed reading the posts and thank Bob for his hard work! I live and record in nashville,tn. This past weekend 1/13-1/14,was spent at the sound emporium recording educational material for silver-burdette-ginn,mostly for grades 1-6.I used my 1929 Juzek master arts ,Fodera electric, and miraphone 185-cc Tuba.Playing styles from polka to "highlife" ala king sunny.currently the Juzek is strung with helicore med. orch. strings , the juzek has so much punch that the orch strings still soundgreat pizz.Recently, i moved the bridge closer to the fingerboard shortening the string length from 42.5 to 42. wow, it seemed to make the bass much happier and my little hands liked it better too. Happy bass playin !
