: : : Im wondering if theres anyone who has tried this AMT microphone, Which Mark was asking about, I hate my pickups and Im seriously thinking of buying this mirophone. Please someone tell me if it erally works. I havent heard anything about this system but there are many nice players who use it.
I have the Realist pickup on both of my basses and very pleased with them, there are some places on the G string where it does lack prescence.I would think that using a mic in combination would solve it, but then it is just more gear to deal with.

: : My buddy Don knows a bassist using one who says that it is NOT a replacement for a pickup. Have you tried using the Realist/mic combination? I am very happy with that.

: Ive heard this realist pick-up, Bassist Drew Gress was here earlier this year and he had one but he preferred a microphone on the sweet spot of the bass which Im more interrested in for smaller jazz gigs. Are you talking about mixing the realist and the microphone so that the sound of the pickup goes to me and the microphone sound is in the house system. Im not thinking especially about that. I think the realist pickup is the best pickup available, but Id like to get even more real. Im really interested in hearing peoples opinions.
