: : I'm a new upright player, been playing for about 2 months and I find myself getting these really bad blister on my fingers (filled with both water and blood). I would like to know how do you get rid of them properly and is there any way to provent them. Thanks
: Whatever you do, don't pop them! The juice inside helps them heal. Keep
: playing, they'll eventually be callouses. If you can stand the pain, don't wait
: for the blister to heal before playing again. I think it speeds up the
: callousing process. After they've healed you can apply some tincture of
: benzoin, that helps toughen and protect the skin.
Stop playing before you get blisters! Easy does it: soon enough you'll get callouses.
If you're in a boot camp mood, you keep playing, but you won't learn music that way as your mind is distracted by the pain.
Come on buddy, two month is young, be patient, let your fingers heal and resume practicing.
