In regard to your cleaning problem.Go to the automotive section of your local WalMart and get a package of polish clothes. These are orange colored with a sewed red border .Use these every time you play to get the rosin dust . In regards to cleaning your instrument any good guitar polish will do . I have used Martin and Co. for years with no problems . I put it on very sparingly on and old pocket hanky each week , then let dry and polish with one of the above clothes . In about a year you will have a great finish . NEVER GET THE SEAMS WET ON ANY STRINGED INSTRUMENT . They use a water-soluble glue so they can take it apart for repairs.
