I have been repairing a '79 Kay bass, more like reconstructing.
A friend removed the top for me , now I am ready to put the top back on.
The mystery is how to get the top to fit into the keystone shaped area at the top block where the neck is attached. I have tried angling one side then the other , but still the block area is wider than the opening in the top.
Do you know what I mean. Help please. Oh, now that the side and bottom block is reconstructed, should I just hide glue the top back on and then set the bass bar, or have it set when the body is fully closed? Thanks.
