In case anybody actually reads these postings, I finally got a new bass fiddle off of Ebay throught from a guy out of Pasadena. It's some Chinese maker. It sounds GREAT!!!! However, it did need an action job (so what else is new?)
I live in North Los Angeles County. I have been unable to anyone that knows what Cowboy music or Bluegrass is, much being able to find some folks to play with. I have tried placing Ads in the local papers and all I get are calls from people with electric CW and Blues "Projects". Project being defined as "Usually a GIT grad who paid to much for lessons, all his friends have told him he's the next Yingwe Malmstien who wants you to play "his songs" his way for free, but expects the "band" to chip in for recording costs to record "his songs". But when copyright time comes around the band that paid to record "his songs" is left out in the cold. But I digress (boy did I). I ma finding the L.A. is real waste land when It comes to acoustic players. Other than move to a more enlightened state, can anyone make a sugeestion?
