There's no way you or any one is going to become a good doublebass
player in just a few months. Find a teacher and start on a method
book. Except for it being tuned the same way, doublebass is a completely
different instrument from bass guitar. Fingerings are totally different,
you play more up and down the fingerboard instead of across, there's no
frets, etc. Right hand pizz technique is different too, if you want to
get a decent sound out of the bass. Find a teacher.
: I am a 15 year old sophomore to be this fall and will be playing in my high school Jazz band with the upright. I know how to hold the intrument but my question for ya guyz and gails is what material do i start on. I have played the electric for about two years now and know the notes but what is good material to start out on bass if i want to get desent in about 3 months or so?
