: Hey all......

: Just had a question that would determine me gettin involved with all of your questions and what not. I JUST got the honor of owning a new Azola Bugbass (Floating Top). This is, if you're not familiar, an Electric Upright Bass. It sounds so much like an acoustic double bass that its sickening, and all i can do is laugh when I pluck the first string. Now i know on this message board you all talk about the acoustic double bass. Would you say that the electric uprights are welcome into discussion too? Technically they're directly related to the acoustic doubles so i don't see why not. Anyway, I've got a ton of questions about this, cause playin the EUB is a whole new world, from previously playing my electric and regular acoustic basses. I never expected such a change. Anyways, I was wondering if i could get a few tippers of you all who play the double bass...anything you could let me know about it would help..thanks a lot!! I can't wait to hear what you think about this..

There is an EUB discussion list, though there hasn't been much traffic lately, and there is also an EUB database on line-- you can reach both from my LINKS page, URL below.

The Azola is a nice instrument- played one at NAMM in Feb; Steve and Jill Azola are great folks, too.
