My band is going into the studio to record an album in about a week's time. I'm fairly new to this bass playing game, and every time I hit the studio, the engineer uses a different microphone setup, so frankly I'm confused about how I am supposed to start getting a sound I'm happy with. I play a battered old Zeller 3/4 size (sounds OK, but it's got a couple of dead spots) with a Fishman pickup on it, and I'm looking for a kind of jazzy, latin sound playing pizz, but I also use the bow a bit. Help, anyone?
