: I have a new chinese bass,and after I change strings,the soundpost is fall,and after I put it back,the trouble is coming.After a few days,when I play ,I hear a
: "boom" from the f hole, and my tune is done for half note,It's soundpost sink, and
: lose tone,so I must adjust once and once again(and I konw it must be vertical),
: so please tell me something that can help to stop this.
: my question is :
: 1. The soundpost's right position.
: 2. Does your soundpost usually sink ?
: Thank's...
Did you remove all 4 strings at the same time? That could cause the sound post to fall. You must remove and replace 1 string at a time, so that you always have 3 strings applying pressure on the bridge.
