: : I just installed the REALIST on my bass, but have trouble to plug-in to
: : mixer, because of impedance mismatching.
: : Level is too low, and too noisy when amplify enough.
: : If anybody knows good preamp for the REALIST, please let me know.
: : Thank you.

: The K&K preamp states it has a high impedance input, and I asked them what it is exactly but they didn't answered. I'd say it's about 1 Megohms, which may not not be really enough, but I may be wrong.

The input impedance of the K&K Sound Power Pack, Model 97, and Dual Channel Preamps is 1 megohm; the specification is on their site as well as my own at http://www.gollihur.com/kkbass/preamps.html The value is enough, especially for the Realist, which indicates it doesn't require a preamp. I've sold a few dual channel preamps to Realist users along with a K&K Bass Max to supplement it.

: The higher the better.
: My TW4001 tube DI had a 1 Megohms input impedance and I modified it to 3.3 Megs.

My Acoustic Image Contra and Clarus amps each have a switch to change the load from 1 megohms to 10 megohms. I couldn't detect an audible different when directly interfaced with the K&K Bass Max.
