: : Curently i have seom DR hand made string for my 4 string, what are some
good string out there
sorry beachboy in the 25 yrs ive been playing bass these elixer strings have to be the most overpriced and worst sounding strings ive tried yet a rep for there company gave me a set.I put them on (by the way try stretching your strings when you put the on) played them for 5 min cut them off and put some rotosound roundwounds back on they just didnt have the brillance.
: I recently started using the Gore Elixir strings. I love 'em. They are pretty expensive (I paid $37 at a local store, but they list for $81, so shop around), but they sound good and bright with great tone. Also, they are coated so they are just smooth enough to cut down on the number of blisters, but not too smooth, if you know what I mean. They're supposed to last alot longer, but I haven't had them long enough to know yet. The only problem I've had is some extra stretch during break in that caused some comotion in the band =), but they got over it. Give 'em a try, that's the only way that you'll know it's the best string.
